Privacy Policy

This policy covers the Android app Значение имени
(com.makuno.znachenieimeni), a dictionary of Russian names and their meanings. The app is free and
may be supported by advertising.
We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number or location, and there is no account to create. The names you save and the names you recently opened stay on your device.
What stays on your device
The names and their meanings ship inside the app and work without internet. Your saved names and recently opened names are stored only on your device and are never uploaded. What you type in the search box is not sent anywhere.
What we collect

To add the names people ask for. Requests are public: other users of the app see the requested name and details, and can vote for it. The random ID allows one vote per install and limits spam; it is not linked to your name. |
We do not collect your name, email, phone number, precise location, contacts, photos or files, what you search for, or the names you save.
Country comes from your SIM card, your mobile network and the internet address your phone connects from. We work out the country from that address on arrival and do not store the address itself.
Permissions
- Internet and network state — to load ads, send usage events and name requests, and to know when you are offline. Looking up names works without internet.
- Advertising ID — see Advertising below.
Advertising
The app shows a banner ad. Ads are supplied by advertising partners who may collect and use device information — including your advertising ID — to select, deliver and measure ads. Each partner has its own privacy policy:

Where the law requires your consent before personalised advertising, the app asks for it through Google's consent form (policies.google.com/privacy) before any ad is requested, and you can change your choice later in the app's menu.
Your choices
You can reset or delete your advertising ID at any time, which stops it being used to build a profile of your interests:
- Android — Settings → Google → Ads → Reset advertising ID or Delete advertising ID
Deleting it does not remove ads; it makes them less relevant.
Analytics
Usage events and name requests are sent to servers we operate ourselves. They are tied to the App Set ID and Android ID described above, not to you personally.
Children
The app is a reference for anyone, including parents choosing a name, and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
How long we keep data
Saved and recently opened names stay on your device until you remove them or uninstall the app. Usage events are kept for as long as they help us improve the app, and deleted on request. Name requests stay on the public board until they are added or removed. Advertising partners keep data according to their own policies, linked above.
Deleting your data
Uninstalling the app removes its data from your device. To have the usage events and name requests associated with your device deleted from our servers, email us at the address below and we will remove them.
Security
We use reasonable measures to protect the data we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
